Dr. Caitlin Meredith

About Dr. Meredith

Dr. Meredith is a UBC-trained general dentist with a strong commitment to providing inclusive, high-quality dental care, particularly in remote and underserved communities. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology and Genetics at the University of British Columbia before earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2013, followed by a UBC General Practice Residency in 2014.

After eight rewarding years providing dental care in the remote community of Haida Gwaii, Dr. Meredith has called Powell River home since 2021. Alongside her international dental volunteer work, she has developed particular interest in dental emergencies and pediatric dentistry. Her dedication and clinical excellence earned her top UBC awards in periodontics, pediatrics, and community building.

Known for creating a welcoming and supportive environment, Dr. Meredith is deeply committed to helping patients feel safe, informed, and empowered in their dental care. She combines clinical precision with the same discipline and drive that led her to a Pan American Games silver medal and induction into the UBC Sports Hall of Fame as a competitive swimmer.

Originally from Kamloops, BC, Dr. Meredith enjoys painting and exploring the wild beauty of the Sunshine Coast — whether swimming, camping, kayaking, cycling, or hiking local favourites such as the Knuckleheads and the Sunshine Coast Trail.

About Dr. Schien

Dr. Schien is a dedicated and compassionate dentist committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered dental care. With a strong focus on both oral health and patient comfort, Dr. Schien strives to create a welcoming environment where patients feel informed, respected, and confident in their treatment decisions.

Dr. Schien earned their Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from The University of British Columbia, where he developed a strong foundation in comprehensive and preventive dentistry. He is committed to lifelong learning and regularly pursues continuing education to stay current with the latest advancements in dental techniques, materials, and technology.

With experience in general dentistry, Dr. Schien provides a wide range of services, including preventive care, restorative dentistry, cosmetic treatments, sedation, implants, and Invisalign. His approach emphasizes conservative treatment planning, clear communication, and personalized care tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals.

Outside of the dental office, Dr. Schien enjoys searching for new fishing spots, running marathons, and finding new recipes to cook. Dr. Schien is proud to serve the Powell River/Qathet area and looks forward to building long-term relationships with patients and their families.
