Bruxism Guards

Bruxism guards, also known as night guards or occlusal splints, are dental devices used to treat bruxism. Bruxism is a condition characterized by grinding or clenching of the teeth, often occurring during sleep.

Bruxism guards are typically made of a durable plastic material and are custom-fitted to a person’s teeth. They are worn during sleep to provide a protective barrier between the upper and lower teeth, preventing them from grinding against each other. The guard helps to alleviate the symptoms associated with bruxism, such as jaw pain, headaches, tooth wear, and damage to dental restorations.

The use of bruxism guards aims to reduce the forces generated during teeth grinding, protecting the teeth and minimizing the negative impact on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). These guards can be obtained through a dentist or dental professional who will take impressions of the teeth to create a custom-fitted guard.
